The main focus of this article is on the patterns of vulnerability that are evident in young people with ASD and their impact on the transition to adulthood.
A Theoretically Grounded Exploration of the Social and Emotional Outcomes of Transition to Secondary School
The transition from primary to secondary school, coupled with the onset of puberty, can therefore be a difficult period for young people to negotiate at a critical period of their developmental pathway. This article examines the impact of the transition experience on adolescent social and emotional health, both immedi- ately following transition to secondary school and at the end of the first year in this new school environment.
Adolescent Purpose Development: Exploring Empathy, Discovering Roles, Shifting Priorities, and Creating Pathways
At each stage in adolescence (and in life) their are different goals and feelings of purpose. This article focuses on four phases: middle school, high school, high school graduates and college graduates and what their desires or goals in life are. These phases were impacted by several fac- tors, including transitions, identity formation processes, and external supports and influences.
